Save the Girls, Stop Female Foeticide and Infanticide.

Photo: Save the Girls, Stop Female Foeticide and Infanticide.

In our society there are numbers of diseases, and the killing of the female embryo is one of the most common diseases..
It is nothing but a crime of Murder!

In a BBC documentary film titled “Let her die” shown in the programme “Assignments”, the statistics of female infanticide was given by Emetic Buchanan. It has to be a Britisher who came all the way from Britain to give us the statistics and make a documentary film in a country which has the maximum rate of female infanticide in the world.
According to the statistics compiled by them, everyday more than 3,000 foetuses are being aborted in India on being identified that they are female. If you multiply this figure with the number of days in a year (365 days) we understand that more than one million female foetuses are aborted every year in India. It is practised maximum in the state of Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.

There are big bill boards and advertisements saying “Invest Rs.500/- and save Rs.500,000, signifying that you do tests like Amino sentesis or ultra sonography which cost about Rs.500/- and on identifying the gender of the foetus if it is a girl you can always abort her and thus save Rs.5,00,000/- which is usually spent in the upbringing of a girl and giving dowry in her marriage!

According to a report of the Tamil Nadu Government Hospital, out of every 10 female children born, 4 are put to death.

Now let us have a look what the Holy Scriptures say about this:

"A slayer of an embryo is like the slayer of a priest." [Krishna Yajur Veda 6.5.10]
The Atharva Veda (6.113.2) lists the fetus slayer, brunaghni, among the greatest of sinners.
The Kaushitaki Upanishad (3.1) counts abortion among such heinous sins as killing one's parents.
According to Parashara smriti (4.20) the sin accrued by an abortion is twice greater than sin committed by killing a brahmana. There is no atonement for this sin.

"And when one of them is informed of (the birth of) a baby girl, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief. He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide." [Al-Qur'an 16:58-59]

“When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned, for what crime she was killed.” [Al-Qur'an 81:8-9]

In pre-Islamic Arabia killing of female infants was very common and very often the moment a female was born she was buried alive. However, after the spread of Islam in Arabia, Al hamdulillah, this evil practice has been discontinued for the last 1,400 years.

It is also mentioned in Qur'an:
“Kill not your children on a plea of want. We provide sustenance for you and for them. Come not near shameful deeds, whether open or secret. Take not life which Allah has made sacred.” [Al-Qur'an 6:151]

A similar guidance is repeated as:
“Kill not your children for fear of want; We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin.” [Al-Qur'an 17:31]

"Losers are those who killed their children foolishly, due to their lack of knowledge, and prohibited what God has provided for them, and followed innovations attributed to God. They have gone astray, they are not guided." [Al-Qur'an 6:140]

Knowledge

Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 3 :: Hadith 63
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
While we were sitting with the Prophet in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: "Who amongst you is Muhammad?" At that time the Prophet was sitting amongst us (his companions) leaning on his arm. We replied, "This white man reclining on his arm." The an then addressed him, "O Son of 'Abdul Muttalib."
The Prophet said, "I am here to answer your questions." The man said to the Prophet, "I want to ask you something and will be hard in questioning. So do not get angry." The Prophet said, "Ask whatever you want." The man said, "I ask you by your Lord, and the Lord of those who were before you, has Allah sent you as an Apostle to all the mankind?" The Prophet replied, "By Allah, yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to offer five prayers in a day and night (24 hours).? He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah! Has Allah ordered you to observe fasts during this month of the year (i.e. Ramadan)?" He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to take Zakat (obligatory charity) from our rich people and distribute it amongst our poor people?" The Prophet replied, "By Allah, yes." Thereupon that man said, "I have believed in all that with which you have been sent, and I have been sent by my people as a messenger, and I am Dimam bin Tha'laba from the brothers of Bani Sa'd bin Bakr."

Who was Muhammad (peace be upon him) ??

Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Last and Final Prophet and Messenger of God and his message is for all of Humankind. He was not sent only for the people of Arabia or for the people of the 7th century.

God clearly tells us in Quran: “And we have sent you O Muhammad, not but as a mercy for Humankind and All that exists.” [Quran 21:107]

And Surprisingly the Prophesies of Muhammad (that he will come as Final Messenger at the last age) is present in the Scriptures of All the Major Religions. He was predicted in the books of Hinduism, Buddhism, Shikhism, Judaism, Christianity etc..

Prophet Muhammad taught us to worship God alone, without partners, sons or daughters, to love God and to obey Him. He taught us to be kind to each other, to respect our elders, and care for our children. He taught us that it was better to give than to receive and that each human life is worthy of respect and dignity. He taught us to love for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.

Prophet Muhammad taught us that families and communities are essential, and he pointed out that individual rights although important are not more important than a stable, moral society. He taught us that men and women are equal in the sight of God and that no one person is better then another except in respect to his or her piety and devotion to God.

Islam is the religion of all prophets

May 28, 2013islamthepeacefulreligion.blogspot.in

Islam is not a new Religion started by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) around 1400 years ago. It is the Continuity of Divine Messages, in essence, the same message and guidance which God revealed to all prophets who came before Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), right from the time of prophet Adam (peace be upon him).

• God says in the Glorious Qur'an, "Say (O Muhammad): We believe in God and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (prophet Abraham), Ismail (prophet Ishmael), Ishaq (prophet Isaac), Yaqub (prophet Jacob) and Al-Asbat (the offspring of the twelve sons of prophet Jacob) and what was given to Musa (prophet Moses), Isa (prophet Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (God) we have submitted." [Al-Qur'an: Chapter 3, Verse 84]

God has sent number of messengers and prophets to guide humanity. The Qur'an mentions 25 of them by name, among them Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, John, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). There are, however, many others who are not named. All of them have brought the same message, that is "There is only ONE God".

• God says in the Qur'an, "And We sent not before you (O Muhammad) any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me (Alone)." [Al-Qur'an 21:25]

So the massege of Islam is not anything new which is started from Muhammad (peace be upon him), rather it is the same truth proclaimed by all the Prophets before. Thats why we find today the same massege of 'Monotheism' in All the previous scriptures of major religions, whether it be Veda, Upanishad, Psalms, Torah or Bible.

But during the passage of time the previous scriptures are distorted by the followers. And whenever the message delivered by the previous prophet has been corrupted or distorted by their followers, God sent a new prophet with a new book again. And this process was continued until there came the Last and Final prophet. Today we see, the previous scriptures has been mixed with philosophical speculations, superstitions, myths, and neglect.

We come to know about the corruption of the previous scriptures from this verse of Qur'an, where God says:

• "(And remember) when God took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!" [Qur'an 3:187]

But as Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last and final Messenger, God Himself has taken the duty to protect the book revealed on him (that is Qur'an) untill the last day:

• God says, "We have, without doubt, sent down the Qur'an; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)." [Qur'an 15:9]

And finally my dear brothers and sisters in All faith! Ponder over this verse where our Lord, the Almighty God is telling us somthing to reflect in:

• "O People of the (previous) Scriptures! There has come to you Our (final) Messenger (Muhammad) to make clear to you the religion after a period of suspension of messengers, lest you say, “There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner.” But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And God is over all things competent." [Qur'an 5:19]

Take Care of your HEART

Take Care of your HEART:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Allah does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your Hearts (and deeds)."

That means, Allah does not look at the figures of His servants, if they are big or small, healthy or sick, nor at their

looks if they are beautiful or not. He does not look at their lineage, whether it is prestigious or not, nor does He

look at their wealth, or any of these factors at all. The only connection between Allah and His servants is through

Taqwa (righteousness), so whoever has more Taqwa of Allah is closer and more honorable in the sight of Allah.

So do not be proud of your wealth, your beauty and body, your children, your mansions or cars, or with anything

of these worldly matters at all. However, if Allah has enabled you to be righteous and have Taqwa, then this is

from the blessing of Allah upon you, so thank Allah and praise Him for it.

difference of opinion between classical Imams and Schools

May 13, 2013islamthepeacefulreligion.blogspot.in

by  Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari

In a case where there is a ‘genuine’ difference of opinion

between classical Imams and Schools, with one view of

permissibility and the other of impermissibility, the desire to

choose the ‘stricter’ ruling simply to gain respect and be

regarded as pious… is a hidden spiritual disease! Being

precautious and acting upon the stricter position is indeed

praiseworthy, but sometimes one’s intention can be

insincere, and the aim is to act all pious and prove that one

is very religious and does not take ‘liberal’ views! Likewise,

the desire to choose the more ‘lenient’ ruling simply to be

regarded as moderate or modern is also a spiritual disease

. May Allah Most High grant us sincerity, Ameen.

Benefitting the Dead

Benefitting the Dead

Don't forget to share this article after reading

The Qur'aan established two general principles concerning the reward and punishment for deeds:
1) Each human will fundamentally only be benefited or harmed by the deeds which he or she actually did.
"...that humans will only have the result of theiractions." [Soorah an-Najm (53):39]
2) No human can carry the sin of another.
"...that no one bearing sins can carry the sins ofothers." [Soorah an-Najm (53):38]

Consequently, when a person dies, the opportunity for that person to do good ends with the person's death.  However, the chance to harvest good from deeds which were done prior to death remains.
Du'aa
The prayers of other Muslims on behalf of the dead will benefit the dead, by the permission of God.  Had they done no good, no one would consider praying for them. If they were evil, the prayers of others will not benefit them.   In Chapter al-Hashr(59):10, Allaah praises the believers who pray for those who have passed away before their time.
"And those who came after them say: Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and do not put in our hearts any hatred against the believers. Our Lord, You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful."
Furthermore, the funeral prayer itself consists mostly of prayers for the dead.
Safwaan [the narrator mentioned that Safwaan ibn `Abdillaah ibnSafwaan was married to ad-Dardaa] said, "I visited Abud-Dardaa's home in Syria, but did not find him there. Ummud-Dardaa asked [me], 'Are you going to make Hajj this year?'  I said:  'Yes.'  She said, 'Pray to Allaah for good for us, for the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "The prayer of Muslim for his Muslim brother in his absence will be answered. As long as he prays for the good of his brother, there is an angel assigned near his head who says: Amen, and may the same be for you."’ I left and went to the marketplace where I met Abud-Dardaa and he related from the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) the same as that." [Sahih Muslim, vol.4, p.1429, no.6590.]

Fasting
Fasts missed by dead persons may be done on their behalf by their close relatives. The fasts may be from Ramalaan or from oaths(nathar).
`Aa'ishah quoted Allaah's Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) as saying, "Whoever died owing fasts, his guardian should fast on his behalf" [Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 3, p.99, no.173, and Sahih Muslim, vol. 2, p.556, no. 2553.]
Ibn 'Abbaas said:  A man came to the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) and asked:  O Messenger of Allaah, my mother died owing one month of fasting.  Should I do it for her? He replied, "Yes, debts to Allaah, have more right to be paid." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 3, p. 99, no. 174, and Sahih Muslim, vol. 2, p. 556, no. 2554.]  In another narration a woman asked about her mother’s debt of fasting and got the same reply. [Sahih Muslim, vol. 2, pp. 556-7, nos. 2554, 2557-61.]

Paying Financial Debts:-
Anyone may cover the debts of a dead person, whether they are relatives or not.  Furthermore, the payment of outstanding debts can benefit the dead by relieving them from some of the punishment due to them for their negligence in repaying them.
Jaabir said:  A man died and we washed him, perfumed him and shrouded him.  Then we brought him to Allaah's Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) to lead the funeral prayer for him.  We asked, "Could you pray for him?"  He took a step forward then asked,"Does he have any outstanding debts?" We answered:  "Twodeenaars." [He said, "Make the funeral prayer for your companion," and] [This addition can be found in another narration of the hadeeth] began to leave. Aboo Qataadah took responsibility for [paying] them, saying, "The two deenaars are my responsibility."   Allaah's Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) asked, "Will the creditor be taken care of and will the dead person be absolved from them?" He replied, "Yes," so the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) led the funeral prayer for him. One day later he asked [Aboo Qataadah],"What was done about the two deenaars?" He replied, "He only died yesterday!"   The following day he returned to the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) and said, "I have paid them off."  The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "Now his skin has become cool."[Musnad Ahmad, vol.3, p.330; authenticated in Ahkaamul-Janaa’iz, p. 16]

The Charity of Children:-
Parents will benefit from whatever righteous deeds their children do, without decreasing the reward of their children's good deeds.  A righteous child is considered to be part of the parent's earnings.
`Umaarah ibn `Umayr’s aunt asked `Aa’ishah, "I have an orphan under my guardianship.  May I consume some of his wealth?" She replied that she had heard Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) say, "Among the most pleasant things a man consumes is what comes from his own earnings, and his child is from his earnings."[Sunan Abu Dawud, vol. 2, p. 1002, no.3521; authenticated in Saheeh Sunan Abee Daawood, vol. 2, p. 674, no. 3013]
`Aa’ishah related that a man asked the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam):  My mother died suddenly, and I think that if she had spoken [before dying], she would have given something in charity.  If I give charity on her behalf, will she get the reward?  He replied, "Yes." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 2, p.266, no.470, Sahih Muslim, vol. 3, p.866, no.4002, and Sunan Abu Dawud, vol. 2., p.812, no.2875]
Aboo Hurayrah quoted the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) as saying, "When a man dies, his acts come to an end, except in three cases: an ongoing charity, knowledge from which people continue to benefit, and a righteous child who prays for him." [Sahih Muslim, vol. 3, p.867, no. 4005, and Sunan Abu Dawud, vol. 2, p.812, no.2874]

Why Allah sent Prophets and Messengers ?

Why Allah sent Prophets and Messengers ?

Why Allah sent Prophets and Messengers ?
Source:  Appendix II from  ‘Interpretations and Meanings of the Noble Qu’ran’
By Dr. Muhammad Taqiuddeen al-Hilaalee, Ph.D. and Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan
Ever since people innovated the dogma of joining others in worship along with Allah, Allah had been sending Prophets and Messengers to His devotees in order to invite them to the worship of Allah and Allah Alone, to order them not to ascribe partners unto Him and bring them out of the darkness of polytheism and into the light of Monotheism. All the Prophets preached the belief in the Oneness of Allah. The following verses from the Noble Qur’an illustrate this fact:
“Indeed, We sent Nooh (Noah) to his people and he said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilaah (God) but him. (Laa ilaaha ill Allaah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a great Day!’” (Al-A’araaf, The Heights 7:59)
“And to ‘Aad (people, We sent) their brother Hood. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilaah (God) but Him. (Laa ilaaha ill Allaah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)?’” (Al-A’araaf, The Heights 7:65)
“And to (the people of) Madyaan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu’ayb. He said: ‘O my People! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilaah (God) but Him. (Laa ilaaha ill Allaah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you, so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not make mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers.’” (Al-A’araaf, The Heights 7:85)
“And to Thamood (people, We sent) their brother Saalih. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilaah (God) but Him. (Laa ilaaha ill Allaah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah).’” (Al-A’araaf, The Heights 7:73)
“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): Worship Allah (Alone) and avoid (or keep away from) Taaghoot (all false deities etc. do not worship Taaghoots besides Allah).” (An-Nahl, The Bee 16:36)
Every Prophet was sent unto his own nation for their guidance, but the Message of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam – peace be upon him) was general for all mankind and jinn (a being created from smokeless flames).
“Say [O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)]: ‘O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah.’” (Al-A’araaf, The Heights 7:158)
So the aim of sending these Prophets and Messengers to mankind and jinn was only that they should worship Allah Alone, as Allah said:
“And I (Allah) created not the jinn and men except they should worship Me (Alone)” (Adh-Dhaariyaat, The Winds that Scatter 51:56)
And to worship Allah means to obey Him and to do all that He has ordained, – and to fear Him by abstaining from all that He has forbidden. Then those who will obey Allaah will be rewarded in Paradise, and those who will disobey Him will be punished in the Hell-fire.

Our Final Destination

Did you ever stop for a while and asked yourself,
what is going to happen to me the first night in my grave ?
Think about the moment your body is being washed and prepared to your grave,

Think about the day people will be carrying you to your grave And your families crying …

Think about the moment you are put in your grave Just imagine … yourself in your grave

Down there in that dark hole Alone Its too
Dark you cry for help But………

It is too narrow your bones are squashed You regret missing 5 prayers , you regret listening music , you regret not wearing Hijab

You regret ignoring Allah ‘s orders But no ESCAPE ……

You alone with your deeds No money ,no jewelries,

Only your deeds May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) protect us all from the punishment of the grave. Ameen

Sacrifice due to islam

 - Jundab bin Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: I was with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the day of 'Id Al-Adha While he had not returned after having offered (the 'Id Prayer) and finished it, he saw the flesh of the sacrificial animals which had been slaughtered before he had completed the Prayer. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: One who slaughtered his sacrificial animal before his Prayer or our Prayer ('Id), he should slaughter another one in its stead, and he who did not slaughter, he should slaughter by reciting the name of Allah.

 - Al-Bara', may Allah be pleased with him, reported: My maternal uncle Abu Burdah sacrificed his animal before ('Id) Prayer. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: That is a goat (slaughtered for the sake of) flesh (and not as a sacrifice on the Day of Al-Adha). He said: I have a lamb of six months. Thereupon he said: Offer it as a sacrifice, but it will not justify for anyone except you, and then said: He who sacrificed (the animal) before ('Id) Prayer, he in fact slaughtered it for his own self, and he who slaughtered after the Prayer, his ritual of sacrifice became complete and he in fact observed the religious practice of the Muslims.

 - Anas (bin Malik), may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said on the Day of Nahr (Sacrifice): He who slaughtered (the animal as a sacrifice) before the ('Id) Prayer, should repeat it (i.e. offer another animal). Thereupon a person stood up and said: Messenger of Allah, that is the day when meat is much desired, and he also made a mention of the need of his neighbor, and perhaps Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) attested it. He (the person who had sacrificed the animal before the 'Id Prayer) said: I have a goat of less than one year of age with me and I like it more than two fleshy goats; should I offer it as a sacrifice? He permitted him to do so. I do not know whether this permission was granted to anyone else besides him or not. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) then turned towards two rams, and he slaughtered them, and the people came to the goats and got them distributed among themselves (for offering them as sacrifice).

 - 'Uqbah bin 'Amir, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) gave him ('Uqbah) the gifts of goats to be distributed among his Companions. They sacrificed them, but a lamb of one year of age was left. He ('Uqbah) made a mention of that to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), whereupon he said: You sacrifice it. Qutaibah narrated it with a slight difference of wording.

 - Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) sacrificed with his own hands two horned rams which were white with black markings reciting the name of Allah and glorifying Him (saying Allah-u-Akbar). He placed his foot on their sides (while sacrificing).

 - Rafi' bin Khadij, may Allah be pleased with him, is reported to have said: I said: Allah's Messenger, we are going to encounter the enemy tomorrow, but we have no knives with us. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Make haste or be careful (in making arrangements for procuring knives) which would let the blood flow (and along with it) the name of Allah is also to be recited. Then eat, but not the tooth or nail. And I am going to tell you why it is not permissible to slaughter the animal with the help of tooth and bone; and as for the nail, it is a bone, and the bone is the knife of Abyssinians. He (the narrator) said: There fell to our lot as spoils of war camels and goats, and one of the camels among them became wild. A person (among us) struck it with an arrow which brought it under control, whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: This camel became wild like wild animals, so if you find any animal getting wild, you do the same with that.

 - 'Ali bin Abi Talib's Hadith, may Allah be pleased with him. Abu 'Ubaid reported: I was with 'Ali bin Abi Talib on the occasion of the 'Id Day. He started with the 'Id Prayer before delivering the sermon, and said: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) forbade us to eat the flesh of our sacrificial animals beyond three days.

 - Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: None of you should eat the flesh of his sacrificial animal beyond three days.

 - 'A'ishah's Hadith, may Allah be pleased with her: 'Abdullah bin Waqid reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) forbade (people) to eat the flesh of sacrificed animals beyond three days. 'Abdullah bin Abi Bakr said: I made a mention of that to 'Amrah, whereupon she said: He has told the truth, for I have heard 'A'ishah say: The poor among the people of the desert come (to the towns) on the occasion of 'Id Al-Adha during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). Whereupon the Messenger of Allah said: Retain with you (the flesh) sufficing for three (days), and whatever is left out of that give in charity. After this, they (the Muslims) said: Allah's Messenger, the people make waterskins with the (hides) of their sacrificial animals beyond three (days), whereupon he said: I forbade you for those (poor persons) who flocked (to the towns on this occasion for greeting meat) but now when this occasion has improved you may eat, preserve and give in charity.

 - Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) forbade eating of the flesh of sacrificed animals beyond three (days), but afterwards said: Eat, make a provision, and keep it.

 - Salamah bin Al-Akwa', may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He who sacrifices (animal) among you, nothing should be left in his house (out of its flesh) on the morning of the third day. When it was the next year, they (his Companions) said: Should we do this year as we did during the previous year? Thereupon he said: Do not do that, for that was a year when the people were hard pressed (on account of poverty), so I wanted that the (flesh) might be distributed among them.

 - Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: (The sacrifice of Al-Fara' and Al-'Atirah) has no (sanction in Islam). Ibn Rafi' made this addition in his narration that Al-Fara' means the first-born young one of a camel

CHARACTERISTICS OF CALLED-2

EDUCATION:-
The second point concerning an individual that must be considered is their level of
education and understanding. Talking to somebody who is a university graduate is
different from talking to someone who is a common laborer. One my quote many things
to a university graduate which the average laborer would not normally understand.
Complicated ideas and philosophical concepts like the trinity, and discrepancies in Bible
manuscripts are not suitable for discussion with people of limited education. A perfect
example of that is Thul-Qarnayn mentioned in Soorah al-Kahf. Thul-Qarnayn went to
three groups of people. One group of people who were a strong nation, according to the
scholars, he conquered and made very clear statements regarding them. He said: “I will
punish whoever does wrong and is unjust, and I will give a reward to whoever believes in
and does righteous deeds.” He talked to them in a precise law-giving manner, because
they were a civilized nation, and a strong community. But when he went to the other side
of the world, he met a group of people who couldn’t understand what Thul-Qarnayn was
saying, and he could barely understand what they were saying; a completely different
group of people. Did Thul-Qarnayn tell them to either believe or suffer punishment? No.
He saw that these people were a mild people. Some scholars said that they were lazy,
because they were not able to build a wall to prevent the Gog and Magog and they had to
ask Thul-Qarnayn to do it. Perhaps they were a materialistic people as they offered Thul-
Qarnayn money. Or perhaps, they were ignorant of advanced methods of construction
and were not educated in the ways of great civilizations. They were used to paying other
people to do jobs for them. So what did Thul-Qarnayn do with them? He told them that
he did not want their money. Instead, he instructed them to help him do the job. This was
not because he needed their help as he had an army with him, but because he wanted to
educate them about hard work. He wanted to teach them about what it means to take
matters into your own hands, to defend yourselves. So he dealt with them in a different
manner than he dealt with the first nation. Consequently, you have to look at the level of
education and understanding of the people you’re talking to and deal with them
accordingly.

MISCONCEPTION:-

The third issue we have to look at is preconceived ideas and misconceptions those being
called to Islaam may have. Of course, that can only be determined if we allow them to
express their thoughts, if we listen first, before trying to teach them. Once we have heard
a misconception, we have to decide whether to spend a lot of time trying to correct the
misconception or to choose another tactic, or another topic. For example, raising the sun
from the west. This is in reference to the story of Prophet Abraham when he went to the
king and said:

“My Lord is the One who gives life and causes death.” And the king said:

“I can give life and cause death.” Obviously the king had a misunderstanding about the
meaning of giving life and causing death, a misconception. What did Abraham do? Did
he spend time trying to explain to the king the correct meaning? No. Instead he chose
another way. He challenged him saying,

“Indeed Allaah brings the sun from the east. Raise the sun from the west,’ and the
disbeliever was dumfounded.” (Soorah al-Baqarah, 2: 258)

He was stupefied and completely unable to respond. Similarly, rather than stopping to
explain each and every time a misconception is raised, and becoming so bogged down in
defensive explanations, the situation may be avoided by raising issues which clearly
demonstrate Islaam’s superiority. For example, when misconceptions concerning
polygamy in Islaam are raised, those raising them may be asked if monogamy is actually
being practiced in the so-called monogamous countries of the West, or if one wife and
innumerable girl-friends, mistresses, etc. can realistically be called monogamy.
Furthermore, it may be noted that Islaam is the only religion whose scriptures explicitly
say to marry only one wife.

“And if you fear you will not be just, then marry only one.” (Soorah an-Nisaa, 4: 3)
That statement often stupefies the detractors as neither the Bible, Torah, Gospel, nor the
Hindu Scriptures (Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, etc.) contain such a statement. Instead, their
scriptures encourage unrestricted polygamy. On such occasions it is important to read the
circumstances accurately, to see where the discussion is going. Whether it is a case of
honest misunderstandings which need to be cleared, or deliberate misconceptions being
thrown out to disable the caller.

CHOOSING YOUR APPROACH:-

Choice of Subject:-

Next we have to choose our approach. After reading the situation carefully and correctly,
you must now choose the subject. What are you going to talk about? Prophet Muhammad
(r) told Mu‘aath ibn Jabal, “You are coming to a people from Ahl al-Kitaab, so the first
thing you should invite them to is Tawheed.” Notice the logic. You are coming to some
People of the Scripture; therefore choose to talk to them about Tawheed. When you know
the people, the situation and the circumstance, now you choose your topic.
There was a time some years back when enthusiastic Muslims used to
continuously engage Christians in discussions concerning the Gospel of Barnabus. The
origin and history of the Gospel of Barnabus is a long story. It is enough to note that there
is mention in it that Prophet Jesus was not crucified, and that a prophet would come after
him by the name of Ahmad. Consequently, Muslims spent a lot of time trying to convince
Christians about the authenticity of the Gospel of Barnabus. Was that really important? If
they believed in the Gospel of Barnabus, would it save them on the Day of Judgment?
No. Is everything mentioned in the Gospel of Barnabas the Gospel truth? No. In fact
there are passages and concepts contained in it which are incorrect and go against
Islaamic teachings. Consequently, we must choose our topics wisely. We should ask
ourselves: “What does this person really need to know to fulfill my obligation of
conveying the clear message of Islaam to them? What do I have to give this person so
that on the Day of Judgment I can say to Allaah: ‘O Allaah! I conveyed Your message,’?
The message which I have to give them is none other than Tawheed. We may begin our
discussions by talking about the trinity, but many Christians do not believe in the trinity.
Some believe that there is only one God and that Jesus Christ was a prophet of God. In
such cases, there is no need to go into a long debate about the trinity, since they have
already rejected it. Consequently, we have to find out what their actual beliefs are and not
preach to them based on assumptions. We have to take some time out to listen, as was
mentioned earlier. If we do so, we may find that it would be more beneficial to talk about
Prophet Muhammad (r). Thus, the choice of topic to discuss or share is as important as
reading the situation correctly.

Method of Delivery

The next thing which we need to keep in mind when approaching others is our method of
delivery. We have to decide how we are going to communicate our message. Are we
going to use an emotion approach? Although, emotional arguments are to be avoided in
general because they tend to cloud the issues and the facts, sometimes they are the best
method. On one occasion, the Prophet (r) gave a sermon in which his eyes became red,
voice became loud and his anger increased.3 However, that may be appropriate in a
Friday Sermon, because people are there in the Mosque for a particular religious reason.
It is also important for motivating people for Jihaad, or for giving in charity, etc. At other
times logic may be most appropriate. One of the Companions by the name of
Mu‘aawiyah ibn al-Hakam, mentioned that he came to see Prophet Muhammad (r) after
converting to Islaam, and he found him making his prayers, so he joined the prayers.
When one of those praying behind the Prophet sneezed, so he said, “Yarhamukallaah
[May Allaah have mercy on you],” while praying. The other Companions turned and
stared at him in the prayer and he asked, “What are you all staring at?” So they started
hitting their thighs to make him quiet. When the Prophet finished his prayer he simply
said:
.
“Indeed, the speech of people is not suitable for this prayer.”4
He gave Mu‘aawiyah a simple logical reason for not talking during formal prayers, as
opposed to raising his voice and screaming at him for his error.
Where possible, visual aids should be employed in conveying the message as it
helps get the message across. People today are very much visually oriented. TV, video,
computer, CD, DVD, etc., etc. have become the most popular media for communication.
Consequently, using power point presentations, or charts and over head projectors are
great aids in conveying the message today’s audiences. The Prophet (r) himself
employed visual aids in teaching his companions. On one occasion he prayed on top of
the mimbar (pulpit) and then informed his companions that he only did so for them to
learn his method of prayer.5 On another occasion he drew a straight line in the dirt and
other lines branching of from either side to demonstrate the significance of his straight
path and the abundance of deviant paths leading away from the true path. And on another
occasion he said, “The Last Hour and I have been sent like these two,” and he joined his
forefinger and his middle finger,6 in order to indicate how close the Final Hour was.
Everyone likes to hear information relayed in the form of a story. The human mind
seems to relax and be comfortable in the psychological environment created by
narratives. Consequently, stories from the bards and storytellers of the past to the authors

of fiction of the present are held in high esteem by societies throughout the world.
Oftentimes, social criticisms have found their widest audiences through the vehicle of the
story. For example, in David Copperfield, Charles Dickens attacked the exploitation of
children by Victorian society; likewise, in 1984, George Orwell commented on state
interference in the lives of its citizens. The 90’s movie, Primary Colors, taken from a
book by Joe Klein, was a thinly disguised account of President Clinton’s philandering
while campaigning for office of the president.
Stories about people and civilizations of the past are especially interesting because
they represent mysteries to the people of the present. Hence the Qur’aan and the Sunnah
has, in a number of instances, employed the narrative (qissah) format in order to convey
its message to human beings in a most intriguing manner. It should be noted, however,
that while many of the most popular narratives are made up by their authors, the
Qur’aanic and hadeethic stories are all true. They are not made up by Allaah and His
Messenger () to convey His message, but are in fact true historical examples of the
message. This fact has been emphasized in the Qur’aan in numerous passages. For
example, Allaah refers to the Qur’aan as truth:

“I revealed the Book to you in truth.” ( Soorah al-Maa’idah (5):48)
Likewise, Allaah repudiates the idea that these narratives are invented. At the end of the
story of Prophet Yousuf (Joseph) and his brothers, He says,

“It is not an invented story but a confirmation of the previous
(scripture). (Soorah Yoosuf (12):111)
Consequently, it is not surprising to find that the use of examples from human life to
illustrate points in the message is very effective.
Figurative speech is generally a more moving and effective method of
communication than direct commands and detailed explanations. Hence, Allaah has also
used them frequently in the Qur’aan:

“Certainly I have made all kinds of comparisons (mathal) in the Qur’aan for
humankind that perhaps they would reflect.” (Soorah az-Zumar, 39: 27)
There are also numerous examples in the statements of the Prophet (r) where he relied
on the mathal to get his message across.7
Gradual Progression
Read your progress by analyzing the level of your audience’s internal motivation. This is
a technique used by motivators to assess where somebody is relative to the point they are
7 They are too numerous to begin to list, but just as a tiny sample, refer to the simile of the people who
observe the limits set by Allaah and those who do not as people on the upper and lower decks of a ship
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 3, p. 406, no. 673). See also Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 1, p. 278, no. 468, for a simile
of the believers as a structure whose bricks support each other.
trying to get across and to gradually get the person to agree with their point. By reading
the person’s body movements one can assess the person’s response position and his or
her progress according to the scale. At the bottom of the scale is “neglect – indifferent.”
If you are talking and somebody is ignoring you, it means that they are completely
indifferent to what you have to say and to the topic on which you are speaking. This is
what is known as a “difficult person”, because they just do not care about your point of
view. Convincing them is virtually impossible, because they have no interest in what you
have to say. They are simply out of your reach. So rather than trying to convince them to
agree with you, you have to find something emotional to get them into the discussion.
The ten-point scale show how a person can gradually evolve from being indifferent to
being hostile, to being neutral, to being curious, to finally agreeing. You have to take a
person based on where they are and gradually get them to a point of agreement. What
happens is, for instance, you meet somebody who is very hostile. You know the person is
hostile because they continually interrupt you saying, for example, “No, I don’t agree
with you.” Having read their language and assessed their hostile stance, do you then
argue back insisting that they have to agree with you? Will such a response produce a
positive result or simply degenerate in a shouting argument? You cannot change
somebody from feelings of anger and opposition to agreement immediately. In such a
circumstance, the method which should be used is called the PAR (Probe, Align, Raise)
method. Probe your adversary, meaning, ask them why are they so hostile? Find out the
reasons for their hostility. Then align yourself to their level. See the situation through
their eyes. Empathize with them. Then try to raise them to a point of neutrality. Say to
them, for example, “Would you mind if I tried another point with you? Is that ok? Can I
try another point?” “Ok, yes?” Once they respond positively, you have brought them to
neutral. So, rather than confronting their negativity with negativity and ending up in a
wrestling match, try to think instead how you can get the hostile audience to a neutral
point. Neutral is the same as saying, “I’m willing to listen.” He may be reserved, but at
least he is now listening. The next step is to get them interested and then to get them
excited, before they finally agree.
If somebody is fearful, saying, for example, “I’m very afraid of Muslims. You’re
all terrorists,” will you be able to get them to believe in Tawheed in five minutes? You
have to first remove the fear, you have to get them to be willing to listen, then you have
to get them interested, then you can finally get them to agree. This process may take days
or weeks before you raise the person above their negative feelings and emotions. It is a
skill requiring that we read the situations and the people, respond to their needs
appropriately. Like a doctor who does not start prescribing medicine for the patient as
soon as they step in his office, but, instead he listens patiently to the patient’s complaints
and assesses their illnesses, which my require further tests, then and only then, does he
prescribe the appropriate medicine. We should also have long-term goals, one month,
three months, and six months, before expecting people to commit. Human beings have to
grow through these emotional stages and levels. Humans cannot, like a light bulb, go on
and off immediately. Anger to happiness and back to anger, joy to sadness and back to
joy all take time.
Gradual progression can also be seen in the declaration of faith itself. First false
gods are negated, then the One True God, Allaah is affirmed. This principle is applicable
in many da‘wah situations. Where, for example, a Christian says that he believes in the
divinity of Jesus because his prayers to Jesus were answered. Logical arguments about
Jesus’ divinity do not work because he has practical experience which is enough to win
his emotional commitment. If we ask him about the prayers of a Hindu to his god of stone
being answered, the Christian will agree that the stone god did not answer the Hindu’s
prayers, he will affirm that it was the true God who did. However, by doing so, he has
also cancelled the basis of his argument for the divinity of Jesus and we can then affirm
that it was the One True God who answered his prayers and not his imaginary god, Jesus.
Gradual progression in Islaamic law is usually illustrated by the gradual prohibition of
alcohol. Similarly, if a person drinks alcohol, fornicates and worships idols, we should
not try to get him to quit everything all at once. We prioritize and work our way from the
most important to the very important and from there to the important.

What's meant by muslims

The Arabic word “Muslim” literally means “someone who is in a state of Islam

(submission to the will and law of Allah)”. The message of Islam is meant for the entire

world, and anyone who accepts this message becomes a Muslim. Some people mistakenly

believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. In

actuality, over 80% of the world's Muslims are not Arabs! Even though most Arabs are

Muslims, there are Arabs who are Christians, Jews and atheists. If one just takes a look at the

various peoples who live in the Muslim World - from Nigeria to Bosnia and from Morocco to

Indonesia - it is easy enough to see that Muslims come from all different races, ethnic

groups, cultures and nationalities. Islaam has always been a universal message for all people
.
This can be seen in the fact that some of the early companions of the Prophet Muhammad

were not only Arabs, but also Persians, Africans and Byzantine Romans. Being a Muslim

entails complete acceptance and active obedience to the revealed teachings and laws of

Allah the Exalted. A Muslim is a person who freely accepts basing his beliefs, values and

faith on the will of Almighty God. In the past, even though you do not see it as much today,

the word “Mohammedans” was often used as a label for Muslims. This label is a misnomer,

and is the result of either willful distortion or sheer ignorance. One of the reasons for the

misconception is that Europeans were taught for centuries that Muslims worshiped the

Prophet Muhammad in the same way that Christians worship Jesus. This is absolutely not

true, since one is not considered a Muslim if he worships anyone or anything besides Allah
the Exalted.
